We target mature bulls with a legal restriction of 6 points or better on one side, ensuring our younger elk remain plentiful and the population continues to grow. The bulls we harvest typically average about 300”, with our largest historically scoring about 380”, though we encourage hunters to seize any chance at a legal 6-point bull. Hunting elk in our area during the rut involves driving trucks or ATVs and hiking across private agricultural land and public land to access prime elk territory, feeding ground and travel corridors. Tactics include calling to lure rutting bulls, glassing open areas, and strategically sitting at mineral licks, travel corridors, and food sources.
For added excitement, hunters can pursue add-on species tags on a trophy fee basis—Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, & Wolf.
