Our spring Black Bear Hunt is one of our most thrilling adventures, perfect for families, friends, or corporate groups looking for an unforgettable experience. Conducted with our top-notch hounds, this hunt taps into a robust black bear population, where roughly 50% of our bears are color-phase. We focus on mature boars, offering hunters the chance to pursue a trophy that’s as exciting to chase as it is impressive to harvest.
6 Day - Black Bear Hunt
Hunt dates run from May 6th to June 15th
The hunt begins with our guides and some of Canada’s finest bear dogs riding the strike rack as we cruise the area’s extensive forestry roads. When the hounds start singing, our experienced guides assess the track to ensure it’s a quality bear worth pursuing. If it’s a go, we release the dogs, who will chase the bear until it either trees or bays up on the ground. Your guide will then lead you in to evaluate and, if suitable, harvest your trophy. With at least 1 houndsman/guide per 1 to 2 hunters, this high-energy hunt delivers heart-pounding action and a chance to witness exceptional hound work in pursuit of a prime black bear.
For added excitement, hunters can carry tags for these add-on species on a trophy fee basis- Merriam turkey(if open), & Wolf.
